Current research and teaching
In the main, my research interests revolve around representation, narration and democracy. What and whose story is given legitimacy? How? I am presently finishing the Swedish Research Council project Rape in Sweden 1990-2013: a historical and intersectional perspective on rape narratives in different genres. In my sub-project, I investigate autobiographical stories of sexual violence that have been published online in connection to various Swedish campaigns against sexual violence between 2010-2015. Another research thread revolves around reading. I have investigated the consumption of autobiographical blogs, the notion of reading as self-improvement, current attempts to get boys and fathers to read more.
At present, I spend most of my time leading the department and doing research. I teach some in our MA program Gender, Migration and Social Justice and in our course professional development course “Gender and Diversity in Higher Education.”
